All your above techniques are good except few where I am having small point.

    1.Using social bookmarking sites.
    3.Your URL in your signature.
    5.Using viral transmission.
6.Using any opportunity to promote your website for free.
8.Adding links to other sites on your website.

All above mentioned techniques worked well in past but now a days google penguin is becoming most scary for these type of links. Posting links everywhere can be dangerous. May be it can give you initial boost up but sooner or later it may get penalized by google.

    try above techniques with caution.

There are alot of ways getting FREE traffic online but the most effective way is by joining an active forum and posting actively. That way your website is exposed to real active personas getting into your website as valid traffic.

Really? If you're really using social bookmarking sites (and not something like Reddit) I can't see how you'd get that much traffic.

Almost none of your tactics are free, but these are the most expensive ones on the list. They're at least really labour intensive, and if you're not counting that as a cost you're not thinking like an entrepreneur.

"Viral" isn't something you just click to have it happen, but it often takes years of work and audience building to actually have something go viral. Or one really good idea executed so that people find it compelling.

Unless you're pretty good at SEO already you should prepare to pay something for this.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?
