Is this even possible with Adwords?

I've read some ebooks and whatnot where they talk about slapping up a Web page of some sort based on a hot trend that they found in Google Trends. In order to get traffic, you run an Adwords PPC campaign to "seize the moment", as it were.

This sounds like a crock to me, because every time I start a new Adwords campaign it goes "Under Review" for quite some time. By the time Google finally gets around to approving an ad, the party is over and something new is "hot".

So how do you get around this Google bottleneck?

Google's been on to that trick for a while, occasionally if you already have something legit and relevant ready when something comes up on trends and you catch it in the AM pacific time you can get it approved the same day, but I haven't had them approve campaign for a trends news item in a while.

If you are getting " under review " for your campaigns, either

A The products you are choosing ( like diet pills, or medical products) need approval first.

B You account has been flagged, so anything you list, has to be pre approved.

Following a trend and then using Adwords to drive traffic is common tool used by news sites to get links to story's etc, but that is their normal business.

Google want ads to be relevant to the keywords used. That is what Quality Score is all about.
