Is link building for SEO dead?

I'm suspecting that link building is also less effective for generating traffic as well.

Marketers who use software like GSA and the like create massive number of links. It's like spamming the Internet.

Well high quality link building works for me. Maybe 5 links a week and I'm ranking first page for all my keywords. Some of my competitors keep building spammy backlinks - some have over 50,000 and my sites only have 100. Quality over quantity these days in my opinion.

Good Strike RhysEvans! Everybody says "quality backlinks" but I don't really know how effective it is. I'm just gradually collecting prospects from people.

Thanks for the number of backlinks and how effective info.

Always have been. Always is. And always will be.

High quality backlinks can result to natural exposure. It means, your content gets pass around naturally and build it's own links - RELEVANT links. Which is a huge plus for google.

  • It seems that this is almost dead and in coming year it will be totally dead. Future seems to be in hands of G.

You should acquire links for the targeted traffic you'll get from the site first, for SEO benefit second. But yea, links still play a big part in Google's algorithm.

In recent analysis of Brian Dean shows that links are still important, so I dont think that link building is dead.

Sure, whatever floats your boat. The most important factor for ranking in Google is dead.

I'm pretty sure SEO is dead too. It's died every year since early 2000's according to some schmuck whining in a blog or an industry rag.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Yes, it's definitely dead and was buried a week last Tuesday.

Nobody builds links anymore, that is why nobody is ranking for anything.

IDK GSA and Spam are still working quite good over here. So are outreach campaigns. It all works if you pay attention and track what you are doing.

Here's what doesn't work: "create GREAT content and the links will come!"

If you think there are sites out there just pining to link to your content then you are wrong. You need to actively reach out and get those links

Obviously if you ask enough people everything is dead and nothing works.

Some people mentioned that the sky was falling recently because there was a recent algorythm update. I wouldn't of known it occurred unless I read it on some SEO website. Then again, I don't use GSA on my sites. Once in awhile, if I notice that somebody ripped my content off or did something else to really upset me, and I notice that they're using a tool like that to build links, I might fire a copy up and "help them out."

Why do threads like these exist? I mean really... Obviously SEO isn't dead lol
I have only been a member here for around 4 years or so? I'm pretty sure when i first joined i saw a couple "seo is dead" "is SEO dead" Look seo isn't dead or dying or anything that has a similarity with DEATH. Again i'm sorry if my reply came off rude or negative but i am really tired of seeing threads like this. And not even because i run a SEO business.... I post often and usually share advice or tips on seo and internet marketing in general... I just love to post and chat with people talking about the same interest.

White hat link building strategies through proper content marketing and outreach will always work. However those spammy black hat strategies along with using those automated SEO tools the wrong way, will surely harm your website.

Focus on your high quality content then the rest will follow. Link building is surely not dead if done right.

    Good luck with your marketing!

As you know, there are several types of SEO way. Typical ways are black hat, grey hat and white hat.
GSA method is black hat SEO. I'm not dared to say ti as spam or anything like that,
Every SEO method has its typical feature. I think it is just up to update of Google.

Of course link building is not dead... But the main idea is to understand that Quality is REALLY, REALLY important! You'd better have 10 quality backlinks than even 10k backlinks via tools like GSA!

For new websites link building may be effective at least to get noticed by others that a new website is springing up there. But i think it is not yet dead. It still plays important role in traffic generating.

Link Building still important part of SEO. But you should focus on getting quality and natural backlinks. And also try to get backlinks manually, not using any software. You can use software for creating backlinks but you should do it in that way like you are creating those backlinks manually. Then it will be effective.

Usually because their knowledge of link building means getting crappy, worthless backlinks. They do that, they don't rank, so they jump to the conclusion that link building doesn't work.

You can just post a bunch of spammy links Thats stuff doesn't work anymore. What still works is getting quality links and links from quality sites related to your niche.

According to SEO in Raipur We do use links as part of our algorithm but we use lots and lots of other factors as well. So only focusing on links is probably going to cause more problems for your website that actually helps.

If you are talking about link building with software then i'd say that you are correct. It is a type of spamming and your site could be penalized by google algorithm. But if you're doing link building in natural way then i'd say that link building is still alive and very effective for your webiste
