Need some advice on keyword selection.

I am optimizing a Resort website. The search volume for "RESORT +PLACE" Keyword is very low whereas "HOTEL+ PLACE" keyword has higher search volume.

My doubt is if I should use both "HOTEL + RESORT " keyword in my title tag, i.e home page or should I stick to RESORT for home page and a separate web page for 'HOTEL' keyword. Confused.

Thank You,

    That's an interesting question.

Is there a difference between the 2? I think so. So I would split it into 2 pages if it was me. After all people seem more like to search 1 or the other at a time.

You could use both for one page, I suspect it may dilute the power of a single term, but it may also have the perk of ranking for both at the same time if the page gets enough "credit."

Overall Id say this is a tactic you need to decide yourself. It should be more easy to rank for 1 major term per page I think, but if you combine both keywords their is a possibility that one page can dominate the rankings for both if you work at it enough.

For example, I had a similar issue when I first made a page about White chocolate Oreos White chocolate Oreos

I saw after I made the page, that the term white fudge Oreos was also being searched for, but I didn't have that term in any of my on page keywords.

So I made a few H2 title tags the next time I updated it with new information and started sprinkling the term white fudge Oreos around in addition to White chocolate Oreos.

After a month or so I was ranking middle of the first page of Google first both terms now thanks to the inclusion of the new keyword in H2 tags and the body of the text , instead of just the title term White chocolate Oreos.

Keep in mind that both these terms are the same product, and people expected to see the same thing despite the different wording.

That's my opinion on the matter.

It's not complicated, optimize for multiple variations just like any other niche/keyword. Create multiple pages If needed.
