Manual directory listings for local business. What does client need to provide me?

I've been using Yext for clients for the past few years but decided to stop recently (I do this more on a part-time basis & I just wasn't making enough to make it worth paying their reseller fee), but I have a client who wants his local business submitted to directories & I'm planning on outsourcing this to someone to do manually, rather than through Yext.

I haven't done manual submissions before, so just curious to anyone who's done this before...what do I need from my client in order to verify these listings? I don't want to inconvenience him by constantly asking to go into his email to verify listings, if it can be avoided. Will just asking for the password to his email to confirm submissions be enough, or will he need to verify phone numbers etc?

I need to speak to him about it later today & just curious how I should handle this before I begin or what are your thoughts on this?

Thanks

I never use the client's email address for submissions. That's a great way to open up their email to even more spam than they probably already get. I setup a dummy email address for citation building.

There will be some directories that need phone verification, some that require postcards, and some that you won't have to do anything other than the email verification.

Acxiom requires a scanned copy of proof of business. Other than that it's like Mike said.
