Google Backlinks

Hello every one!
Not sure if i'm in the right place
I'm still newbie to this stuff.
I did some of the SEO by myself for my business site.So basically I've got this extension for google chrome called "Open SEO Stats" added
So i can check google page rank, alexa traffic and many other things .
There is a section called backlinks, i'm pretty sure i had 1 backlink from google , but now it's gone.The question is what impact does it has for my sites (SEO )?
Any suggestions how to get a google backlink again?

    A backlink from google? Honestly, I haven't heard such extension and I doubt its accuracy since I haven't tried using it. Anyway, have you done link building already? The thing about getting a good backlink is all about getting it from high quality relevant niche site. It doesn't matter if it is nofollow or dofollow, as long as it is valuable and relevant.

      Hi i've got this extension my google chrome browser it called "Open SEO Stats"
      i did some building myself already. There is some online sites where u can check your links etc Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch , but with this extension you are able to see how many backlinks you got from google, I'm pretty sure i had 1 ,but now its gone since than my site drop down on google search, it could be more reasons as well but I'm not sure ....

      Why than is everyone using signatures?
      I don't want to be a rude ,but I don't think current or ex google staff member allowed to talk about it, he could go to prison...
      So its very hard to answer your question.

    The backlink checkers are 3rd party tools that may have very inaccurate data. They've got to run their own crawlers, and even the best are nowhere near Google in this area.

    Do you know which of the backlink checkers is actually behind the data that you see? Moz, Majestic... I'd go straight to the source for these reports, and also see what Google WMT has to say. However, even Google's own tool isn't always that accurate.

    I'm guessing that your "backlink from Google" is something like a G+ profile or post. Not a great backlink.

      you could be right... but when i had this single backlink from google my site was very high on google search, more than 15 keywords related to my business site was within top 5 and top 10.( in London) Alexa traffic just over 4 millions. My cousin site had one too , I'm a bit confused now, all my competitors have google + but none of them sites had a backlinks "saying from google"....
