I prefer a theme with in built SEO e.g. Thesis or Genesis.

Second preference is All in One.

After that I would look for alternatives in the Wordpress repository, CodeCanyon or similar.

When I Googled, every blog post mentioning best SEO tools for wordpress were placing Yoast at the top and two of you guys said "All in one is good". So I am bit confused

Both work well and if you have Genesis framework, I would say less plugin for website would be better. However in general, use whatever work for you. I use Yoast because it is simple and the free version is enough for for most website.

I'm having trouble with the Yoast plugin because in some of my posts it gives a brown dot saying the focus keyword isn't in the first paragraph but it actually is. It also says I haven't used the focus keyword in a H2 heading, but I have and sometimes says the focus keyword was found 0 times in the text when it's actually in there 4 or 5 times.

Has anyone else experience this?

Im having the same issue.

Visiting the support section of Yoast SEO, i found out that their plugin may not compatible with some Visual Page/Content Builders.

I may give All in One SEO a try to see if it works.

I was always using Yoast, until this came up, now im trying to find something that works with my Visual Content Builder.

Any suggestions?

YOAST used to be great. But it's not giving me the best results on one of my new sites. I'm looking to try AIO SEO now.

Having said that, YOAST is definitely great and you can't go wrong with it. Combine it with Google XML sitemap plugin and 50% of your SEO is done.

I like Yoast because of its red-yellow-green traffic light, which makes things fast and simple. But I also have the problem that it doesn't see all the instances of the focus keyword. I just ignore that warning because I can see the keywords are there.
