    I don't believe in "gray" it is white or black, in other words, will Google punish you if you would knock on their office doors and say "this is what I'm doing".

    Some people consider method that Google has no way to find out as "gray" (they are becoming rare).

    Btw, when the PBNs started they were considered by many as "gray" (e.g., "I'm allowed to create mini sites on related subjects to my niche and link from them to my sites, right?", well, not if you start using all kinds of tricks to deceive Google so it won't know these sites are yours...)

    I don't believe in gray hat, pink hat, red hat or something else hat SEO's. SEO is not like being in the google's first page overnight. You have to do hard word for it. If you don't you can't.
    Focus on your ON Page SEO and OFF Page. Do promotions and build backlinks as much as possible.

    Black hat = explicitly prohibited and punished by Google.
    White hat = perfectly acceptable.
    Grey hat = slightly shady in nature but technically indistinguishable from white hat, ie harder for Google to punish.

    An example of grey hat SEO is paid guest blog posting. Google doesn't like people buying links and always wants you to use "nofollow" when you post a guest blog post that was paid for. But people don't use "nofollow" and pay for blog posts anyways, and unless they outright tell you that it was a paid blog post, there is no way for Google to know that it is paid and not 100% natural.

    Gray hat seo is blackhat and white hat both mixe that is Gray hat seo.Grey Hat SEO is the practice of using technically legal methods to improve your site rankings, but which are ethically dubious, and could one day become black hat.
