Question About Multi-Language Site and Search Engines

Hello!!

Had a question for those that know.

I have a website that sells an ebook and it does well. The site is in English. But the ebook technically targets the whole world. So I was wondering if I go to Fiverr and have someone translate articles in different languages, can I simply post them on my same site and expect the same results (the same results in terms of appearing in search query)?

Advice?

Thanks in advance for any responses!

don't care about multi-language site. focus on one market and lead on that market, so you win and make alot of money. don't try to disperse your resources

You can never expect the same results with Google. But translations are something that you certainly can do. Sites have parts in different languages all the time. I'd try to make sure that you've got the right language codes in the <head>, but Google is usually pretty good at deciding what you're trying to accomplish. Your site, however, probably only targets one country.

If your book is only available in English I'm not sure if the visitors would actually buy. You'd be giving the impression that you speak their language.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?
