For a complete tutorial and personal walk-through, just send $499.95 to my PayPal.

In other words; pay to learn or figure it out on your own. Everyone will tell you what they think might work, but there's no way of telling if what they tell you is correct or not. Most have never uploaded a video to YT.

The short answer: Optimize your video like any other web page.

    #1 Keyword rich title.

    #2 A full organic description.

    #3 Plenty of relevant tags.

    #4 Share on social media.

#5 Don't buy views or any other non-organic nonsense.

Link to your website from the top of the description so it can be seen without clicking the "show more" tab.

A great summary of what is needed. I'd add do keyword research and competitor research to see what they've done to get to the top - look at what they've done on the page as well as they're backlinks and social media etc.

That will give you good idea of what is needed and how difficult it will be to outrank. You may decide it's better to move on to another keyword.

First you have to go to google and see where other youtube videos are. If you don't see any on the first or second page depending on your phrase it could be a challenge.

If you do and you have your onpage seo all done then get some social backlinks as well as anchor text with different related phrases.

Actually, the two most important factors for ranking on YT are Session Watch Time and Viewer Retention.

Session Watch Time is basically how many minutes do viewers spend viewing video AFTER watching your video. Youtube rewards videos that encourage people to watch more video because YT will make more money from advertising.

Viewer Retention is what percentage of a video do people watch before leaving. 35%? 50%? 80%?

Things like keywords in titles and tags actually have more to do with relevancy than ranking. If you have good Session Time and Viewer Retention and still not ranking, change your keywords to be relevant to other keywords. Although using keywords with weaker competition for those keywords can result in high ranking.

There's a number of ways to increase Session Watch Time. One is adding links to playlists of videos, preferably your own, to the end of your videos. Another is to link to popular, trending videos which can really increase your Session Watch Time.

Also, search on BOTH YT and Google is NOT the number one source of traffic on YT. The major source of getting views is internal on YT, mostly by being listed as a "related" video on the page of a popular video. To be listed here, you need to use similar keywords and also have good Session Watch Time as well as good Viewer Retention.

PS. YT is really a numbers game. The real key is to be able to make good videos as quickly and easily as possible. Even if you do everything "right", many videos won't get views. If you make 25 videos, chances are that 2-4 of them will get 90% of the action. Get a system for creating good videos down. This will depend on your assets like software and available media (images, clipart, stock video, etc), talent and your perseverance.

      This.

I'd just add that the engagement is also important. Likes/dislikes, comments, subscribes. Sure, you should have good video titles and descriptions too, but YouTube is much more than just another webpage to optimize.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.

Here go 4 Tips from my Video SEO course- Tip1: Rename your video thumbnail and go into the file. In there you can add tags, comments, and even rate your thumbnail. Google reads your thumbnail file and it gives your video extra juice to keep your video up on page one for years.
Tip2:Annotations.. Make sure your keyword is in the annotations because Google sees this in the video. Start your annotation 15 seconds into the video.
Tip3:Upload your video under news/politics for faster bookmarking. And remember too add your location as a popular restaurant in your town.
Tip4:Take your Youtube video url and head over to the Google Keyword planner and add it in the landing page section. Just hit the get ideas button and google will send a bot to read the video. Make sure you have a good description. 500 words would be nice or more. Just do it right once and it will pay you for a lifetime. So write a long description.
