Carpet cleaning company who provide services in 50 different cities.
Would it be more effective in rankings, to create a page per city (and build links to it) or to create blog post and link that city keywords to home page?

    personally I would set up each city as a page so you could specifically target those keywords to that page and keep the home page targeted to your main keywords

    Using Pages would help you keep things a bit more organized.
