So, will adding these "structured data" schema codes do any good for your SEO in the long run?

I could find surprisingly little information on this... I just don't know if it's worth the effort?

It's supposed to get your page tagged, crawled and classified more appropriately...

these are may be not good for seo.
you should cut it off your site because it is not optimizing so
and you should make your site lighter

Could you be any more wrong?

Rich snippets can be used to give you more visibility.

Maybe you've been looking from the wrong place. There should be quite a lot of information on this topic. Yes, that's the basic idea.

This is a good idea for e-commerce and other sites that benefit of it, but there's probably not much that your average small business site or blog will benefit.

Err... You do realize that this is just a few characters of HTML in most cases? You're not really optimizing anything by leaving this off.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

structured data is very good for SEO going forward. It has some benefits now and it will only have more in the future since almost all search engines are going with it
