Hi guys, wondering if anyone has experienced this little issue before. I am ranking for a number of terms, however for the main keywords I'm targeting my home page is now longer showing in the serp and another page is showing. Normally I'm the top of page 3 but now I'm page 5 and the serp is pointing to the wrong page.

Some info

- not keyword stuffing
- was ranking fine previously, all of a sudden things changed, only change I made was add blog posts.
- not been buying links, nothing seems to have changed in backlinks
- only thing I have is a 1000 backlinks from pinpud.com for some reason. I have not got a notification from google about it.
- all other search terms are fine, and my home page ranks well. It's just gone wrong for one search term.
- I have tried changing the content and it's still the same
- Could this be related to a new blog post?

Has anyone ever seen shit like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm scratching my head.

Cheers
B

Google fluctuations are very high since the last week. And still changing till today. Many of the webmasters are telling that the traffic has fell and many are telling that they are getting zombie traffic which is of worthless quality. So, don't worry if your changes are from the last week then just sit tight until the dust settles.

Just a Google Dance, you may move back up again sometimes soon, or maybe they found that visitors sent to the competing page stuck around longer and did not return to search for the same item again as much.

Try updating the page just a little bit, you might find in a few days you will move back up again, they may have decided your page is too old.

yeah I have update the page, in fact I totally changed it back to what it was originally thinking that the new page caused the issue. It goes back to normal for a bit and then the same shit. Really annoying because traffic has dropped as a result. No other sites in the same SERP seem to be affected.

      Thanks again

Check with the Meta Tags of the related pages. There might be small fluctuations due to Google's algorithm updates but if the same persists try to change meta tags once again and submit to Google.

Indeed, don't check your SERP without login out and clearing cookies. Or just use another browser that you don't use for anything else. Otherwise you will most likely rank way higher than in reality and you will become lazier
