Brand name can be long. But you can use only the initials if it has more then one word in it. But that's just in the case of url. In the case of head tags it is preferable to use the full name.

That's a good question. I'd use an abbreviation or a part of that brand name if that's something you can do. You don't necessarily need to have that in the title for SEO, but I like to have the brand visible in Google results if that's possible.

I agree with abbreviations. However, you can make the tag line a bit more interesting and easy to remember (you can use rhymes, etc). Majority of audiences prefer short brand names with catchy taglines.

The <title> tag is required in all HTML documents and it defines the title of the document. The <title> element: defines a title in the browser toolbar. provides a title for the page when it is added to favorites.

A title tag is NOT required, and you people spam-up an old friggin thread with more nonsense.

Get this, google knows a spammed, keyword stuffed title tag....they don't even use the whole thing for any ranking signals and that's why.

If you abbreviate a business name you need to associate that abbreviation with everything online where the full business name is mentioned and use upper case on the first letters of each word.

Example:

NASA
National Aeronautics and Space Administration

...otherwise Google will be like, WTH are these letters (abbreviation)?

Title should be short and simple with keywords. This will help to display the full title for viewing in Google search pages. Displaying the correct information in Google pages will help to generate more traffic to your website.
