My website remained on top for more than 2 years for targeted keywords and market. I used to put two new posts a month. I couldn't post anything new for last two months just to realize that it's lost its rank to #4. What immidiate steps should I take to regain the position?

This is what you can do right now before it's too late
    • Change Algo in your favor
    • Ban your competition from listing their sites
    • Buy Google so you can control SERP

It will keep you busy for a while so you can see if there is any changes
next week , month from now and pray Google had mercy on you.

Update the site with a few new articles and build some high quality links. This should definitely bring you back up.

    Either...
    • You've lost followed backlinks.
    • Your host is down too often.
    • You're blasting junk links.
    • You're site is pure spam and finally tripped a Google algo filter.
    • Competition is gaining followed backlinks.
    • The moon is out of alignment with the tide.

    Fallback and regroup.

Hello! I think you should update your site with value-added contents... would be better if you will use competitive keywords with low level competition. Hopefully, it would somehow help you gain your rank back. God bless!
