First time question. Will tracking software give me the information I need?

I just launched a site for local SEO in an attempt to learn SEO. Everything has gone well so far. The site is live and has been submitted to google, sitemap submitted, and indexed on Google Webmaster tools and Analytics.

The problem is I dont know what to do now. I dont know the information that I should or how to find it.

How do I find out where I'm at in the search results and how I have improved after more SEO work?

I am getting no traffic from search engine referrals on Google Analytics and I thought that would show me what keywords I was racking for and what page I was on.

Do I need a program like Source Hunter or something? Can I do it with SEM Rush or Moz?

Depends, I personally track my rankings in Ahrefs, it's not that critical to me.

You could just rely on Google Search Console information.

As far as what to do now, how old is this site, since the first time Google crawled it?

I'm not knowledgeable about local SEO, so... I would assume getting links from local business directories would be safe as long as the site looks professional.

    Thanks for the reply.

It has been 9 days since it was first indexed.

No search engine referral traffic in analytics. No backlinks just on page SEO.

Ok so First thing you have to do now is to see whether your pages or posts are indexed properly by Google or not.
to do that you need to google search and type site:www.yoursite.com
If you see all the pages and post are listed ,your website are indexed properly. and if you see that some of the page or post is missing you have to manually fetch google to crawl those pages from webmaster.
Now you want to find out for your search result . You can use SERPS tool to do that . Just type your URL and the keyword for which you have optimized the page and the location and search you will find the result.
My friend, you are not getting any traffic that's completely natural. everyone goes through that phrase. It will take time .
In the mean time try to focus on you sites onsite SEO . Individual Pages or posts ONPAGE SEO .
Create good contents for visitors . Finally do some back linkings like forum post, Blog Commenting in a proper way .
dont expect to rank overnight. do some things like targeting long tail keywords for your page or post will help you to rank faster.
if you want to rank in your city for example. Just use keywords, with your city name in there, for example: Facebook Services new york. And it will help you rank for broad niches, and local ones.

And try to follow great SEO experts like Matthew woodward, Neil patel
the Journey of learning SEO and implementing it on your site will take some time. There is no shortcut but let me tell you my friend once you start to to grasp it you find nothing is more addictive .......
    Best of luck
