If you need to do anything to get your backlink(s), then its a link not worth having and more likely to penalize you via the Penguin algorithm; ie do not worry about backlink indexers.

or just totally worthless. People need to think about it. If a link cannot be found by Google without ton loads of assistance then how much link juice (which is based on incoming links) can it have?

little or none - and as soon as you stop linking to the link to get it indexed it will tend to fall right out of the index with time again. backlink indexers have little good use unless you have very good links that Google would find but you want to rush the process a few days.

I have utilize backlink indexer for my sites. This is a great way to link your sites indirectly. Meaning I don't directly link my main site to these types of sites. Instead, I link the sites that have a link to my sites.

For instance, If I write an article on Ezines.com or whatever, a high PR site within my niche linking back to my main site, I will Link the ezine article link on backlink indexer. To be even safer, I would link the facebook group link, or LinkedIn post link that contains the ezine article link into backlinkindexer.

Backlinks are a key part of any SEO approach and without them you are going to be making your life so much harder when it comes to improving your ranking.
Yuo need the backlinks indexed to then boost that ranking because without that you will be wasting your time as well as money. Google indexes them to then detrmine the popularity of your website and they actually then calculate your ranking depending on that number.
Backlink indexer works in such way - you submit thosae backlinks to website that have a high PR and then do something called pinging with those backlinks. Google will then pick up on them being submitted to those websites and the ping lets them know that something has changed and this, leads to your backlink being indexed.

Backlink indexer pings and sends a notification to search engines or websites that search engines love to crawl informing them that the web page you placed a backlink on has updated. Without backlink indexer you will have to wait for months before your backlink become indexed in google and then much time to improve your ranking. I personally use Link Indexing, Crawling & Pushing Service - Link Processor an online indexing software that speed up the google crawl process for my niche websites.

CMS like wordpress has an internal pinger and it gets the jobs done as long as you hit the publish button.
I wouldn't worry about pinging if that's the case.

If you're trying to index a large amount of links then you might want to use a service like Indexification or Backlinks Indexer.

If you're just trying to index a few authority links you can make an IFTTT network for this purpose. I've had good luck using IFTTT to index authority links quickly.

If its an authority link, then why do you need to do anything o get it indexed?
