I want to know which one is more good and harmless for taking backlink, Forum or Web Directory. I not going to spam any of the them, just going to do it naturally but as i am beginner so i wanna to know ..

    It depends what sites you are getting these links from and if it's genuine and not spam.

    For web directories find niche specific directories or paid directories

    For forums find forums to post in that are niche related and make sure all your posts are useful and doesn't look like you just posted it for a link.

    Yes, it's absolutely right. It's depend on you what kind of site you are using. Regarding directory, keep one thought in mind always check directory site in which you are submitting the link. Check P/A, D/A, relevant category, etc. for particular dir.
    Regarding Forum: Forum always provide you genuine traffic , you need to choose forum related your theme.
