Thank you for the list here. But as far as I know the most popular web 2.0 sites are- wordpress, blogger, weebly, squidoo.

It's not which is popular that matters but what you do with them.

Unfortunately, most people don't understand that pages with no incoming links don't have power while pages with incoming links do, that not all links were created equal.

The problem with platforms you do not own: you don't own them, can't control them. Take that into account when you develop your SEO stragtegy. Real example: Hubpages changed its rules about backlinsk; so did Squidoo, then it died (i.e., was taken over by hubpages, with its own rules).

I've been out of the SEO loop for a couple of years, but I'm getting back into it. I haven't been to this forum in YEARS! It used to be my go to spot, but now it's changed so damn much... It's sad... I know most SEOers know about these Web 2.0 properties, but I thought that I'd share them anyways for a noob looking for backlinks.

I don't get it... Why Blogger not on the list... According to me, it should be at least in TOP5,,, If not even in TOP 3. Is this list for 2016 or... it's older?

That would be akin to sending Big G an email saying "hey look guys, I'm using your own platform to spam my way to the top of your search results"
No point in making things that easy for them.

One of Blogger's TOS: no using a site to increase the position in SERP's of any pages on another site.

So, at about the 3rd link, you'd be trying to login to add the 4th and Blogger'll be telling you: No such site. Do you want to create a blog?

Plus what Tim said: When they take down your blogger site, they'll go take a look at what the links were pointing to and think extra deep about the links those sites have. Or worse.

My suggestion: make your own Public PBN. Go to Market Source and get 10 expired Wordpress PA 30 domains and 10 expired Tumblr PA 30 domains. Five bucks each! Voila!

If you create one account for all of these:

    blogocial.com
    pointblog.net
    tinyblogging.com
    pages10.com
    ampedpages.com
    blogkoo.com
    total-blog.com
    ampblogs.com
    blogdon.net
    soup.io
    tribunablog.com
    isblog.net
    thezenweb.com
    wordpress.com
    wix.com
    tumblr.com

And start posting articles on each one with you anchor text backlink then that's 16 different backlinks from 16 different IPs. Lot's of people build web 2.0 PBNs.

I suggest purchasing Wordpress and Tumblr PA30 domains from Fiverr or Source Market.
