Hello Everyone

I am relatively new to the complicated world of SEO

I work for a locksmith company called ITCC locksmiths and we are a locksmith company based in London. And i am trying to increase their rankings in google, i started off doing quite well however we have seen no movement recently. We have around 500 pages one for each location of London. And i know many of you will say its obvious "door way pages" However i do not think this is a problem.

The reason i think this is because all of our competitors are doing exactly the same. Such as keys 4 u which we have tried to base ourselves on.

Another one of our competitors which really does annoy me is called Sams locksmiths. And they have literally the same page on 300 domains just with different keys words and domain names.
Such as
Sams locksmith Greenwich
And
Sams locksmith Woolwich

Dam that annoys the hell out of me.

As i have rewritten many of our pages to be relevant to the targeted area and are much much more detailed then any of our competitors however this is not helping our rankings. We have less duplicate content then 99% of our competitors too.

Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyy

I was wondering if it had something to do with the back-links. We have more back links then many of our competitors many of the links were made before i started to work for the company.

So i was wondering if any of these links are harming our rankings. We have no manual google penalty. so im am not sure if this would effect our ranking.

Also someone said i have some problems with my titles, structure and navigation. The only navigation problem i can see is tat i could use more internal links but thats all.

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction PLEASEEEEEEE

If the back-links are low quality, then yes, this can certainly decrease your ranking.

To get low-quality back-links removed, first contact the website responsible, and if they don't remove it within a reasonable time then use the Google Disavow tool to tell Google that you don't want those back-links.

You'll only get generic advice without showing the domain. I'm not suggesting you should post the domain on a public webpage (competition snooping) just that all anyone can do is guess without seeing the domain.

One thing I've found is when someone says they can't rank a page while their site/page is optimized for SEO means the site/page isn't even remotely optimized.

    I agree with DABK.

I ran Screaming Frog on OPs site and one of the pages only has a single internal link.
    • From: hxxp://www.itcclocksmiths.co.uk/locksmith-east-london
    • To: hxxp://www.itcclocksmiths.co.uk/locksmith-romford

That example page ranks #43 for the keyword Locksmith Romford in the UK SERPs. I didn't look but I seriously doubt that page (.../locksmith-romford) has any backlinks from other domains/pages pointing directly at the URL (.../locksmith-romford).

In other words, that page is one internal link away from being an orphaned page.

Work on those internal links for starters.
