I always look for ways to find dofollow backlink opportunities, and I thought I'd share this great method with you.

Here is an easy-to-follow way to find dofollow backlink opportunities right within your own niche:

First, you will need a Plugin that detects whether the links on a page are nofollow/dofollow.

Here are 2 plugins that do the job (both are free to use):

SEO for Chrome

NoDoFollow Add-ons for Firefox

Once you've installed one of the above plugins and become comfortable using it, it's time to move on to Part 2.

Part 2: Look for Blogs within your niche that allow comments

Here's how to do that:

Go to Google and enter one of the following search strings, Always replacing "Keyword" with either your keyword or niche:

keyword "comment here" (e.g. lose belly fat "comment here")

keyword "add comment"

keyword "submit comment"

keyword "add URL"

keyword "submit URL"

keyword "submit a site"

Now, once you've found a blog to comment on, run it through one of the Plugins mentioned above to see if the backlinks in the comments section are dofollow or nofollow.

Focus on the blogs that allow dofollow comments and add a comment that provides value to the reader while, at the same time, dropping in your backlink.

Unfortunately, comments on blogs do very little to help your pages rank better long term. Blog spamming has not worked as a permanent ranking solution for years but people still keep doing it. Search engines do not value links that you can place yourself very high. Do it too often and you'll get hit with a Penguin penalty. The best way of getting valuable links is to create content that will appeal to websites in your niche that are known to link to other websites with good content. Let them know about the great content you have that you think their readers will enjoy. That's how you get real links that the search engines value.

So, based on your assertion, would you also argue that a comment on a high authority blog that receives thousands of visitors a day is a waste of time? More so, if the page on which the backlink is placed has low outbound links and the backlink is dofollow, would you continue to assert that, "comments on blogs do very little to help your pages rank better long term."?

Not all links are the same, and just because a backlink is placed in a blog comment, one cannot automatically assume that it is worthless or spam.

When done properly, blog commenting is not a spammy technique, and it is still an efficient method to rank in the SERPs. But, don't take my word for it, see what Matt Cutts (Google Employee) has to say about blog commenting:

      This 100%.

It is junk link building, plain and simple.

The ONLY reason to ever consider dropping a link in a comment is for direct traffic, and in that case it does not matter if the link is nofollow or not.

If you are regularly building comment links, you are a spammer. You can try to justify it by any means you want to. In reality, you are just a low-level spammer.

You people are just beyond help.

She is a he, and knows nothing about SEO, let alone anything "strategic."

2016 and STILL pushing blog commenting....I rest my case.

Soon, you too can join him in his mom's basement.

Hahahaha Thanks for that Paul! I needed a good laugh today.

I've been called a lot of things in my life, but never a man!!!!!

And living in my mom's basement, LOL, Come on, who do you think I am, Norman Bates??

Blind leading the Blind? Why don't you backup your assertions? Are you claiming that any backlink, because it is placed in a blog comment, is spam and worthless?

Yes, it is 2016, and I still push blog commenting because I know from experience that, when done correctly, it works, and it works very well.

The reviews of my clients (many of whom are repeat customers for 5+ years), speak for themselves. I rest my case.

PS. FYI Paul, some of my clients have had video chats with me via Skype and can vouch that I am a woman.

Maybe you can use blog commenting to build a relationship with top bloggers so you can approach them later by saying that you visit their blog often, and find it helpful and you leave your honest opinion etc. Then you can ask them that you would like to contribute quality content to their blog/ guest posting. I think blogger will consider your content over other contributors if he is convinced that you are potential blog visitor.
    Does this make any sense?

Dofollow blogs and Dofollow forums use the dofollow attribute and that helps you to boost your backlinks and give link love. Link juice from a high PR blog or forum is good for your blog to boost your Google page rank. Specially, if you are active in a niche forum which allows dofollow backlinks, you will not only get a quality link to your site but you will also be getting targeted traffic.
