Site Multilingual and SEO

Hello everyone.
Recently that I'll comessar a new project where I try to access other markets and countries. The site will have three languages.

We all know that it is important to have backlinks from sites in the same niche and the same language. But how does this work on a site Multilingual? The google know the difference? It is possible to rank well in these three languages?

I liked to hear some pros and cons.

By the way, I'll use the WPML plugin. I think it's the best option.

    Doing this is a great way to get more traffic from search engines as they will preference both or all countries you are trying to target.

    This is usually called Multiregional SEO.

     Creating optimized websites with content that is tailored specifically to multiple geographic regions can be more of an pro then a con.

    One con I can think of is that you will have to try to structure your site to suit both or all languages you are trying to target, not so much for the search engines but your your visitors or customers.
