High PR / Authority Article-Style Sites (eHow, etc.)

I am sitting on the can as I type this, so I can't surf around mcuh on my tiny netbook.

But I was wondering -- are there many sites where you can submit a VERY high quality article and get a high backlink?

I swear my competitors use ehow and other sites to do this.

Does anyone have a list of these?

I am not talking Ezinearticles or "article" sites.

        I've got a friend who writes regularly for about.com. I sometimes use his services in exchange for some services that i provide him , and as a result get my links on about.com and hence good traffic and decent backlinks.
