Hi,

We have seen a massive fluctuation in keywords ranking over the past week..

Just want to know, is any google algorithm update still going on?

    It takes a while for things to settle down after a big update. Likewise it seems like a general index-refresh is going on.

    I already said this elsewhere, but give it a week or two. Googles index is HUGE, and a big update has to be rolled out across the entire thing - and then spread across the dozen different datacenters they use for different countries.

    Just check the google algorithm weather at MozCast - The Google Algorithm Weather Report Its currently at 111 which is one of the highest recorded yet.

    Also if you look into the SERPs you will find a lot of unwanted and crappy results moving up, Lets wait for an official announcement.

    Nothing new has been seen in the updates of Google algorithm. ON Page title length has been changed, and the domain name of your website shouldn't match with your keywords. Even the page rank is also not given any importance further. All these updates will help you to settle down your website ranking soon and you need to rectify the mistakes of your website to regain the position quickly.

    I don't think Google announces "small" updates like this anymore. They did, however, say that they would make an announcement when "Penguin 4.0" goes live. That should be exciting.

    minor tweaks, code cleaning, addition of new features in Google core search product take place throughout the weeks as new researches emerge (normally done by major U.S universities as well as company's internal search team), but if there is any major alternation of their huge codebase about to happen, normally Google informs us through its blogs.You do not need to worry about their whereabouts. They do it to serve their users better. Unless you're doing something black-hat, I do not see any problems with google search updates.

    Google is large exposured system and they just can't update everything at ones. Last time I believe they just update everything all the time and that is constant process.
