Buying backlinks, does it work?

On fiverr.com I found a couple of services who offer 30 to 50 backlinks for just $5

I know backlinks are important for someone's SEO but buying them doesn't feel like it would improve a website's ranking, then again it's only $5 and might be worth a try

What do you think?

While there might be good backlinks that you can get from Fiverr (I personally feel that the likelihood is very low), I would recommend you to avoid it.

Chances that you get junk backlinks are very high so $5 would be better off spending on other link building method or marketing activity. For eg, outsource article writing for $5, and buying another gig on article distribution service that will also helps you to build backlinks.

I personally wouldn't buy backlinks. It takes work, but there are better backlinks online that you can find. Check out this article as well as other backlink strategies on the Rank XL Blog.

Many sites that sell backlinks are providing extremely low quality ones from low quality sites that will undoubtedly get you penalized the next time Penguin is run.

I do not recommend ever buying backlinks but if you do, just know that a single quality backlink normally costs 5-10 times (or more) than what Fiverr is charging for 30-50 backlinks.

Six months ago I did an experiment and I bought backlinks for the price of $20. The experiment was done for one of my niches.

The results were good, I went from zero organic traffic to 30-50 visits from organic per day. I am not completely sure if the traffic was due to the backlinks or because I did ON-site SEO, but something happened.

I was very scared that I could receive a penalty but it never happened. The backlinks were bought from somebody on this very forum.

So, the answer to your question is... you can try as long as you don't have much to lose, try different providers and experiment a bit. With the time you will have a feeling of good and bad links. And the bad links can be disavowed by you. Use Google Disavow for this.

It also helped my to learn the proper structure of a Private Blog Network.

The other option is to do proper white hat backlink. I have been writing a small guide about link building: The Ultimate Guide to Smart Link Building (respecting the Penguin) - Passive Income Wise

Now, the piece of advice, be very very careful. I have never bought links after and I still believe that the Niche website can receive the penalty. If you buy backlinks, you will not sleep well

Of course it worked 6 months ago. They have not run Penguin in two years. Let us know how it worked out when Google runs Penguin again, which they say will be very soon.

I will keep the forum updated . It is only an experiment, that website is only a 30 posts site with the only purpose of testing.

Before trying something new in any of my main sites, I always like to do some testing.

I really recommend people to have at least one site solely for testing purposes. You wouldn't imagine how much you can learn.

When you get successful results in your main website, it's difficult to tell what triggered it (this happens because you generally change more than one thing).

    The definition of FAIL.

That $5 will cost you $100s - $1000s cleaning up the shit. Assuming you care about the domain.

The problem isn't buying backlinks. The problem is you're buying shit that's being advertised as backlinks.
    • Quality = Good
    • Shit = Bad

Care about quality not quantity. Spend $500 for 5 backlinks from high authority sites like
Breaking News and Opinion on The Huffington Post | Huffington Post , At my first niche blog i purchased backlinks from fiverr for $5. It's really crappy, all are Spammy and poor quality. So, create 5 quality backlinks instead of 30.

What good is a backlink from a wart removal blog to your network marketing blog or any other niche that you might be in? Unless you are in the wart removal niche then it might be ok, but even then ,it's from Fiverr.

I have always believed that you could do things easier, for example pay someone to do it for you. However, the results are not guaranteed and the quality may be sacrificed. Your $5 backlink may not yield a $1 sale. Just saying.

  • I agree with keyword rank checker, I have gone to that path and everything has been very easy afterwards. You get to have the results you specified for the same amount of money. However, if the fiverr guy would guarantee that the 5$ backlinks are related to my target audience I just might give it a try.

Try building up your own organic traffic instead of going for an easy way . Google has clearly laid out their policy regarding the buying of backlinks to improve rankings on a search engine.

  • I don't think Buying backlinks for the SEO will give you the better result. It just only gives you the limited result for some days after that not working well for the SEO. It is better to perform the Organic activity for taking backlinks.

I'm not surprised that you are affiliated with fiverr and the intention of promoting their low quality services is clearly as the water.

In my experience buying good backlinks is a good thing. Depends on the quality of those links. I use them quite a lot but what I would suggest always try to avoid public networks. If you have a number of webmasters in your window like I do, the risk is minimal if any. Public networks are a no-no.

buying back links will just generte a few backlinks from stupid site that do not match your keyword or site content where Search engines will simply ignore those links.Another things the back link you get from site that has 0 visitors. So the links would not help a dime you spend for back links.

Buy guest posts on well know established blogs.

PBN's are sucking and can take up to 3-6 monhts to have an impact now adays.. you will feel the juice of a good guest post within a few weeks.

Ive let all my PBN's go.. they are more trouble that they are worth in terms of manegment.

Don't buy backlinks. Once Google finds out about the abnormalities of your traffic, your site will surely get penalties.

$5 is not price for good backlinks. I think you can have a good writing with $5 on Fiverr.com for website content.

Same reason why I don't buy backlinks myself. It's possible if the person who does it is really good, but I won't take that risk. Pay $5 for 30-50 links, and I don't think they'd care where your link ends up.

Good luck on your experiment though. I hope it works!

I believe that works until it is discovered. That is forbidden action by most SE starting with Google and I believe if you violate that you will be banned and in this case you will lose everything including money paid for links.

I think building backlinks by your own effort will gives you better satisfaction rather than trusting on $5 services. What will you do if those backlinks are spammy or junk? but obvious you will disavow them and in result waste of $5.

I would suggest not to buy backlinks.

Why not follow the ladder instead of taking a huge leap which could perhaps pose a serious threat in Google's eyes?

Just a suggestion, try to contact blog authors who are posting articles related to your niche. Reach out to them and ask if it's possible to include your website in exchange of sharing the updated post (with your website already posted) in your social media channels.

That's more safer compared to buying backlinks I guess.

If the link is on a targeted site and it's in a easily visible place that will get seen then I say go for it. Otherwise stay away from buying backlinks and use it to advertise or improve functionality.

Honestly, I don't like these type of cheap Fiverr Gigs. They usually use blackhat method to create huge links in short time. Which is harmful in long run. So. I suggest you to keep yourself away from such gigs. You can hire someone to get manually created backlink from high quality sites.

You can get more traffic to your site with many Fiverr Gigs -$5 by good service of anyone. But I know what you need , more traffic or more exact traffic? You must answer yourself clearly . And I recommend you want develop your website , you certain need exact traffic with exact customers who have real demand for your service .
Hope you will have a wise choice to avoid wasting time

Absolutely not, it is against Google webmaster guidelines. It is a kind of black hat SEO. Your website will be penalized if Google detects it.
