Problem with search engines reading physical address!

Hi there,
I have an SEO problem that I have not been able to find an answer to no matter how much research I do. It pertains to the physical address listed on a web site that I created.

The site is for a day care in a very small upstate New York town called Greene. The problem is, the day care's mailing address is Chenango Forks, NY (the next town over) even though the day care is in the Greene, NY town limits and the Greene, NY School District. This is a common practice in rural areas it seems (although I don't really know why).

So, the trouble is, the day care comes up in a search for "Chenango Forks Day Care" but not "Greene, NY Day Care". I anticipated this problem and tried to put the text "Greene, NY" and "Greene Central School" throughout the site but it seems the address block in the footer is over-riding the rest of the geographical information interspersed throughout the site. I even added in parenthesis within the address block "...Chenango Forks (in the Greene Central School District)..." but nothing seems to convince Google that the day care is in Greene not Chenango Forks.

Short of replacing the correct Chenango Forks mailing address with an incorrect Greene mailing address, does anyone have an idea of what steps to take to get Google to recognize the true location of the day care? Obviously those living in the immediate area are the target customers for the day care so this is very troublesome issue.

TIA for your help!
