[Discussion] Yoast plugin

Lately I've been using the Yoast plugin for my wordpress website but I'm slightly doubting its recommendations. I find it extremely hard to get a green dot for both 'readibility' and 'SEO' on my website's pages. And since it's just a check on certain things I would like to know how serious I should take this plugin.

So to all Yoast users - do you think it's important to follow all the recommendations it gives you? Do you think this plugin has had a big influence on your ranking?

Any opinions or experiences are welcome

Obviously no, this plugin has no big impact on rankings. This plugin recommends you on the basis of the targeted keyword you choose. This plugin works as per the keyword you target. There is no necessity to get all green dots.

Thank you so much for sharing this information I also had the same question because getting green mark here is really very hard.

I have tried following all their recommendation but never got both green as required.

Looking forward to your recommendation on alternatives that you will be bale to share

Don't take those color rating too seriously. Yoast seo is still the best plugin for seo. Try to follow it's suggestions but not depend on it 100%.

I enjoy the suggestions with Yoast but it clearly is not the answer to the top of the Google food chain. I do like it for reminding me to do the little things in SEO.

I have been working with Yoast for 10 months now, and you right that some if its recommendations aren't 100% on point.

All it is doing with the readability indicators is making suggestions to make content easier to read.

But in the end, some of the indicators include additions that limit your ability to expand points, use longer sentences when needed, etc.

Yoast is great for getting your On-Page SEO 80% of the way right, but remember, on-page SEO has some technical bits (which Yoast helps you fix), but it is also about creating content that users will love to read.

So when it says "include a keyword in the first sentence", you can gladly ignore that if you created a great introduction with your keyword in the first 50 words.

I recommend reading Charle's Floate's "The Art of On-Page SEO". In combination with using Yoast and the information recommended in that article, your pages will be better optimized.

Although this is not bad for newbies, but it absolutely doesn't have a big influence on search ranking.

Instead of it, you can follow these awesome tips to optimize on-page SEO from Brian. Here you're: backlinko.com/on-page-seo/

If you write short sentences, short paragraphs and have a good amount of titles, readability is easy to get to the green.

After all... Users like reading short sentences etc.
