Noob Question- How Do You Backlink Like MAD?

I have a really noob question; but how EXACTLY does one go about backlinking for articles like crazy?


I am an article marketer, and have yet to backlink, and I know it's importance, but still do not fully understand how to do this?

Take for instance I have an article on EZA... now how do I backlink that one article?

People say submit to many article directories, but then there is this thing I heard saying that you cannot do that if you have submitted to EZA as it is against their policy...?

Any help here... as to how to backlink for an article?

I have also seen many people suggesting websites and all kinds of things to use, but I am not getting how to do that either.

Some people say that you can go on blogs and post comments- so what do I literally just post a link from any given article on an article directory I use, and then say "hey do you need to know how to groom your dog, click here for some great advice... __insert the link___"? Is that what you do??

That seems like spamming to me... and alot of people are also saying that some websites are not allowing this anymore, or are cracking down...

So that being said, I am still wondering how to backlink for an article, and more specifically how to backlink like crazy for each article..?

The stupid thing about this, is that I am aware of all the websites, and kinds of methods people use to backlink... but I am not sure what you PASTE in the comments... write in your author boxes (for backlinking) etc....?

So really any examples here, would be greatly appreciated...

and I realize how simple back linking actually is... (in finding out how to do it)... and I am not sure why I am still not getting it... when it is relatively easy... so please don't shoot me for not getting it right away..

      Oh wow... visual works well for me! Thankyou so much, but another retarded question- how do you find websites where you can place things related to your niche?

      Doing something like what you have done- sounds ok, I know of some websites, but not like what you just showed me...? actually maybe not!? I think this did answer my question... I just need to do some more researching now... thanks!

        You can set up an alert for your keyword phrase using Google alerts, then whenever a new article is posted that includes your keyword phrase, Google sends you a notice. This is a great way to find blog posts to comment on.

      You have me confused. That site is a no dofollow so how are links from there useful?

        He was just showing me HOW to do it, I think- as for it being a do follow or no follow, there are tons of discussions on here about that lately, saying google is really ignoring BOTH of them...


        But still there is anchor text in there, and yes that is a bit confusing as well- not sure, but I think they were only trying to demonstrate how one would put a link in a comment etc... to start a backlink in the firstplace- because i am aware of some websites and can do the rest on my own I think...

    That had to be the most simple explanation of getting backlinks I have seen, lol.
    Search for blogs, use Social Bookmarking, RSS submissions, bookmark in Delicious and then submit all of the tag rss feeds from Delicious to RSS submission sites.

    Other good ways to get backlinks: profiles on forums, signatures, trackbacks (that's posting about someone else's blog post on your blog and using a trackback url to get a 2-way link), sites like 3stepads.com and organic-seo.info .

      Can you explain this further... I am new to this forum, and as far as I read affiliate links are not allowed in SIGS.... I only do affiliate work... that's another issue here..

      BUt I do have my Own URL'S, but they are redirected back to other websites, from other people-


      I don't have a blog... everyone has one these days...?! As for the social bookmarking, I still do not understand that either?


      This guy was really clear, the one who showed about commenting- ... now if only someone can do the same thing about RSS feeds, bookmarking... etc?

      Because honestly... It is simple, but the visual sure does help! Hearing people tell you... social book marking, social bookmarking.. IM LIKE I KNOW... But i dont know!!

      So ... extremely feeling like a dunce here, but if I don't ask, I may never know... so here I am asking-


      as well on my profile.. it says "about me" and includes youtube, twitter, and website URL... etc...


      Presumably I cannot put anything that is mine, if it's affiliate work??

      Is that the case? I was wondering about that too, but don't want to get banned for that either...

    Yes, you see, that is exactly what I meant... and I don't want to be banned from EZA either... It's my source of income, understandably!


    But can you tell me what happens once you publish them..

    Let's say I take one article from EZA, and bring it over to goarticles, (or any other well ranking article directory, such as any of the following...

    ArticlesBase, (Alexa TR = 3,147 PR5), Buzzle (Alexa TR = 3,386 PR6), SearchWarp (Alexa TR = 7,287 PR4), ArticleAlley (Alexa TR = 24,759 PR5), Web-Source (Alexa TR = 27,840 PR5), ArticleSet (Alexa TR = 29,878 PR3), Amazines (Alexa TR = 31,192 PR3)... and so forth...)


    So then I did this, and am going to submit... then the whole author box issue comes up! this is what I was talking about as well... to backlink... I put the original URL from ezinearticles in my author box??


    OR what happens here... because I want to backlink... so this is what I am asking as well... once you are on there... what would a typical author box for backlinking look like, on other article directories?
