Keyword optimization help needed

I have a group of keywords that I want to work with. The top two are two-word phrases, one is the plural of the other. For example:

black widget
black widgets

If I want to make two pages, one optimized for each, would it work to have one of them something like "black widget supplies" in order to make more logical sense to have a second page? Or do I ignore useability/function and just go after the keywords?

In other words, if I optimize for "black widget supplies" won't it also by default be picked up for "black widget?" Of course, I could use either or both phrases for backlinks.

    Hi Kelly,

You are correct, that works perfectly.

It's a good idea to keep keyword prominence in mind. Always begin your page title with the exact keyword you are targeting, followed by whatever you think will make a great headline.

Thats the balance of meta titles - keywords included + a user friendly compelling headline to encourage click through from your impression.
