Stealing traffic with SEMrush

Before I start I want to emphasize the importance of thinking in evil mode when we put ourselves in the shoes of a web traffic thief. A web traffic thief is that SEO who understands that to position in Google must pass over others (results). He does not stop to question too many things, nor stop asking too many questions. Just act and get it.

SEMrush and SISTRIX are two great giants who put at our disposal an entire arsenal of weapons with a capacity for analysis and to do bestial damage to our competition. As they move back into the SERPS our results will advance further and we will not give up a single step for a second.

I will use this thread to share my experience with SEMrush

Where do you enter the visits? Try to ask this question to some rival of your competition, you have the contact form, Twitter or even maybe you can see them in a face-to-face event. They will never answer you, but the best of all is that with SEMrush you will not need it, because it will be a question that you can solve quickly.

We access the tool and carry out the process that all SEOs or webmaster fans know. We put the url of our competitor and we analyze his best keywords. In this way we will be able to see where the visitors come to them (so far nothing new with Semrush, is not it quiet that then comes the good).

According to SEMrush, the ranked keywords that shows you in positions are all terms that your blog has been able to position on Google.

With the same article of your blog you can get to rank several keywords (long tail variations that SEMrush takes into account).

The better positioned one of your articles will be broken down into several keywords ranked according to Semrush (within the same post).

Within this equation, keep in mind that keywords that have less competition always have less priority, this is the characteristic that totally determines the choice of keyword regardless of traffic.

For example. You have 2 keywords:

Keyword A: Level of searches 400 times per month / Level of proficiency 4

Keyword B: Level of searches 1.000 / Level of competence 5

Which would you stay with?

In Semrush, in my experience, the ones that work best are A type keywords. So do not target the url of your competitors and go straight to your best keywords just because they have higher traffic volume.

If you are serious about stealing traffic, the best thing you can do is learn to identify your competition well. One SEO error I see frequently is that people think that their competition are those web sites whose real-life businesses (world 1.0) are their competition. For example, if you have an electronics store, and suddenly an English Cortex is installed next to you, suddenly you will see that your sales start to fall ...

Keep in mind that Semrush offers you a section called Competitors where in theory you can see the websites that are your rivals within Google. I say theoretically because one of the things that you should know is that this section is not always completely accurate when it comes to showing you the websites that you should analyze in Google (SEMrush uses an algorithm to see webs with keywords similar to yours, but not Is the only factor you should consider).

A more accurate way to find your competitors is as simple as typing in Google the keywords that you want to investigate and then analyze the first results that appear in Google step by step in this way, which I already detailed in this post. This way you will be able to detect competition in a 100% accurate way, since you can get an accurate idea of the size and real strength of the websites (and you can compare it with yours).
