Hello Warriors,

I never knew about this awesome site until I stumbled upon it through reading someone else's tutorial on how to rank high on Google. I was really pumped, but halfway I noticed that the software that was being recommended was outdate. It turns out this tutorial I was watching was from 2010!

So I figured I would seek fresh tutorials and how to's to rank high on Google. I'm very eager to learn different ways to monetize website for Google to generate passive income.

My SEO knowledge is fairly basic. I've read a book, and watched many tutorials like many of you. Here's where I'm stuck. I spent 6 months working on an business niche that I didn't see profitable the beginning of this year, so I've decided to just convert it to a blog and see where it heads. Learning from that lesson I refined my keyword research skills, and I've narrowed down to a different niche.

I guess a question I have is what else can I do to optimize and monetize my site to rank high?

Things I've done:
-Site went live yesterday so it's not fully indexed by Google
-Chose to target a keyword generally receiving 1000-2000 monthly searches
-Created 2 blog posts myself , and will continue to create throughout the week.
-Targeted 1 keyword on each article and created 2-3 backlinks for targeted keyword
-Installed Yoast SEO, ALl in one SEO pack, added Google Analytics,
- submitted Adsense registration, will add these on my blogs, plus Amazon affiliates

I've read some posts here and there are people who are freaking talented with internet marketing and SEO. Can someone tell me if I'm missing anything? I hope to rank high on my target keyword within 1-2 months.

Thanks in advance for your help!

-Chris

You may want to add a strategy on blogger outreach.

First of all there are many factors to ranking high in Google.

My suggestion would be to go after low hanging fruits -

Keywords which are buyer intent and at least get 200 searches per
month. There is no point fighting for trying to rank a 2000 monthly
searched keywords and wasting money and time and at the end
    no result.

That's frustrating. I learned it the hard way.

90 percent of the SEO is perfect keyword research. No software, or
backlinks can make you a SEO pro.

However, if you are still trying to rank your existing site:

    - Go for high quality guest posting
    - PBN within the same niche works wonder (But be careful from where you buym or create it on your own).
    - Keep adding fresh content

    Hope this helps.

Just because it was from 2010 doesn't mean it is out of date. Depends on what the tutorial covered.

Ranking is about good links. That hasn't changed over the years. The only thing that has changed is Google keeps getting better at understanding the difference between crappy links and quality links.

Map a strategy first and act accordingly. Try to focus on content and create your strategy. Content Marketing is the new wing of digital marketing, so you can focus more on that and proceed.

  • Thanks everyone for your great advice. I will try to target keywords with less than 1000 searches monthly. Get some low hanging fruit if you will!

Just remember that search volume doesn't dictate how competitive a term is. I know some terms that get searched less than 500 times per month but are as competitive as terms that get searched 20,000 times per month.

After creating a content for your blog post, next you should try to share your posted content link on the social media networks, websites like; Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and much more! This may be more beneficial for getting more traffic to your website.

Apart from what you`ve done and what the warrioirs have adviced above, I`d recommend you to research your competitors a bit. Firstly, you should really check the competitiveness of the keywords you target, as search volume alone is not comprehensive. Next you can have a closer look at the winning pages for your keywords in your target area. Find their strengths and weaknesses, analyze what`s the winning content they offer, check the sources they are building links from. This will give you some insights on which route to take to rank among them in perspetive.

As the website just went live, I`d also recommend you to double-check that none of the important pages are restricted from indexing by mistake, and also to generate and submit a sitemap to Google if you haven`t done that yet.
