    It is called off-page SEO.
always go for white hat SEO don't ever go for black hate seo. because white hat seo is for long term SEO. Black hat is for just time being..

There are plenty such as guest posting to high authority pages, broken link building, creating your own PBN, well its a bit risky but quite well effective if you don't get caught by doing it right.

Great advice. Nobody is better at finding innovative ways to backlink than Brian Dean. More to the point of the question, getting real, quality backlinks is the same in 2017 as it was in 2016 as it was in 2015 as it was in 2014 ...

Blog commenting and social bookmarking ain't going to help. They are not link building strategies, they are just for outreach.

Outreach, guest posting are the things that will be suggested if you want to rank for long time. But you can also go for gray hat methods.

  • In Link Building Strategies. it should be more article writing and submission and make sure about unique writing. writing more about product or services can work well in 2017.

Just go for article writing and submission, blog writing and submission and just go for PR in some good websites .It will definitely work for you just try it!

"create quality content and other website's will share your content or they will give you a link" - The biggest lie in content marketing.

"If you build it, they will come" is not a reliable or repeatable business model.

There are two main phases in content marketing:

    1. Creating the content: If you are creating for a business who doesn't have content, make sure you do extensive keyword research first. You need to find some easy wins. If the client has a good media budget, create an epic guide or other high authority piece. If not, at least produce a few articles >500 words.

    2. Promoting the content: This is the part everybody forgets, but there is no chance you get links without it. It requires additional pieces of content to promote your main piece of content. This is where you get links and shares.

I understand it is difficult to get website owners to link to you but they do do it, even in other countries. You will never see a website with no outbound links, everybody links out to somebody.

The trick is to solve their problem, which is the same problem you have, creating good content. Here is a formula I like to use:

Research a keyword with good search, high CPC, but one that has some low authority websites ranking on the first page. If there is nothing but big-box sites, I'll look for an easier one.

Then, produce an authority piece of content, something that surpasses the current offerings in quality and relevancy and solves a pain point.

Next, write a catchy blog post to promote the content and publish both on the client's site.

Then, Write 20-25 tweets, facebook posts, and google+ posts to promote the blog post and authority content. Schedule them out over two weeks, and monitor.

Finally, produce an infographic that drums up interest in the problem that your piece of authority content solves. The key is to target a different keyword that is related to your own. I like infographics because of their fungibility.

Do some careful research and find out what sites you would like to gain a link from who would also be interested in content that helps them rank for the infographic keyword. It's best to go after blogs because they are usually in need of content.

Once you have identified where you would like to publish the infographic, begin your outreach campaign. This usually begins with thoughtful comments on other blog posts they have published, then a direct email to the site owner pitching your infographic and all the traffic it will bring them.

This is a real rough and tumble of what to do and there are many nuances I left out but if you approach a site owner prepared, and offering great content, you will see your outreach improve.

Of course, that is a ton of work and it would be too expensive for some clients. That's why white hat content marketing is not an option for many small businesses, unless they happen to have a knack for blogging.

If you are working with clients who do not have a media budget, I suggest you try other means. There are easier and cheaper ways to get links.

If you can find some strong (spam free) expired domains, there's a few good services out there if you don't want to scrape yourself, then building just a few PBN sites can really give your rankings a boost. More so than many blog comments, social bookmarks etc...

first of all you need to have really quality content, followed by optimizing your pages (Onpage), finally the backlink building ( Offpage ), there are 2 methods white hat and gray hat.
Gray Hat: you create the link has the same content with your page, PR DA PA high, must be dofollow link, there is more traffic, more social interaction, has tail. GOV and EDU.
white hat:you create quality real content and match up, share on social networking sites grew, connecting communities on the Webmaster.
