Is it worth spending the $30 or so for some backlinks and targeted keywords on fiverr? I was just browsing around on their website the other day and thought hmmmm?

Prior to Penguin, I've had solid success with some backlink services from Fiverr / SEOClerks

    After Penguin, not so much

Don't get me wrong, you can still benefit from SEO services from Fiverr. However, you can't use direct link building services (unless you're doing NSEO)

Instead, focus on outreach services. These can help you get organic and real backlinks.

You've been here 4 years and still don't know to search the forum? There's threads in the correct forum (SEO) about the subject.

Since you're not going to do the forum search I'll tell you now, fiverr will junk up your backlink profile.

Never bought anything from SEO Clerks or Fiverr but I would like to make it clear that you should beware of the quality of the services that are being offered to you.

For example, if you can get 100 .edu backlinks for $5, are they really going to be quality backlinks? Is it worth Google or other search engines ranking your website even lower than what it already is? There are things like that to think about.

No it is not. Often times they can do more harm than good.

    Hi Bob,

Google is getting better and better at nailing folks who try to game the system or i.e., folks who pay for SEO services through a site like Fiverr.

Here's the best way to have success with SEO; write really really really really helpful content. Use Yoast for your Wordpress blog to dot i's and cross t's. Guest post to build relationships. Comment on top blogs from your niche, posting a 4 - 6 paragraph mini guest post.

Using these strategies I had a stretch where I ranked #3 on Google for "how to submit a guest post" and #4 for "how to rank on page 1 of google for a competitive keyword." I paid zero attention to SEO before experimenting with onsite SEO, prior to those 2 posts, but I had fabulous backlinks through guest posting and blog commenting because I GPed and commented only on related blogs and really wrote thorough, in depth, helpful comments and posts.

Save the 30 smackers. Spend 30 minutes daily gaining backlinks and more importantly, building friendships with top folks in your niche, and you'll have lasting targeted traffic both through Google and through your friend network.

What Ryan says. These days, I just write on topics related to my niche. Provide quality content and lots of it - that's the way to go. If you are looking for ways to get more traffic to your site, do some social media as well. I do lots of Facebook lately and my traffic is picking up.

      Solid advice Ryan. Thanks mate.

Sometimes it's easy to choose the Fiverr shortcut, but that's what it is, a cheap shortcut which won't produce anything tangible.

I would personally look for a better service and pay more money than I would on fiverr... but that's just me..

In my experience, stick clear well clear of SEO services from Fiverr. Some of the backlink services I swear have done harm to the rankings of some of my sites.

Fiverr is an incredible resource for graphic design, menial work etc etc - i use it for these things all the time. But SEO? No thanks.

Fiverr freelancers are great but not at everything, including SEO. If you really want to make it big, I recommend you take things into your own hands. No one cares about your success more than you do so NEVER pay for something that you can do yourself. Wasted money is wasted effort.

Work hard on researching and writing quality content for your site, post relevant and helpful comments on blogs, connect with other bloggers via guest posting, promote your content on social media - these can help you build your site's reputation more than that $30 you're planning to spend on Fiverr. Good luck!
