Has anyone heard of Syndwire? Its supposed to be a content syndication tool that gets you a lot of links from places like social media, bookmarks, etc.

A company I work for uses it but I'm leery of it. Syndwire and the producers of Syndwire seem very suspicious to me and cant answer straight questions about its use or their strategies.

My understanding is it is a Joe Troyer product. Has anyone else heard of him? Whats your opinion of him and his products? Thanks

This is my favorite site for content syndication.

This is not really "content" syndication. It is a social media sharing tool that makes it possible to share once and have the same social blurb posted on dozens of social media site, most of which nobody really uses.

You DO know that backlinks on social media sites are nofollow, right? Those backlinks won't help your site rank any better. The most you can hope for from this tool is that it will increase your traffic, realizing that the worst converting traffic of all is traffic from social networks.

Thanks Dave, yes I realize social links are nofollow. I posted about that in another post at the same time I posted this topic. Last I was doing SEO was about 6 years ago and no one paid any attention to social linking because they are nofollow links. I havent done SEO in a long time and just started doing it again. I know they are still nofollow links but my understanding is with the recent Google algorithm updates a lot of weight for off-site SEO is probably dofollow quality backlinks as well as some kind of social presence, ..exactly what that social presence is and how much weight it holds and how to increase that weight I have no idea though.

I dont like Joe Troyer though, I dont like his products and it seems very scammy to me so I wanted to see if anyone else thought the same

Well, if you can believe what Google says (and that is always a big IF in my opinion), they do not factor social into their algorithm at all. Bing/Yahoo does seem to use it as a ranking signal, so if nothing else, it may help you there.

Honestly, though, this tool doesn't seem any different than ones that were around at the turn of the century.

As far as Joe Troyer goes, I try not to comment on any specific people in this industry unless I know them personally and regard their products highly. There are very few people that meet that criteria.
