Keyword competition/analysis tools

Well, like the title states, what are some tools / websites that are good for checking keyword analysis and competition?

What I'd really like to find is a tool for backlink research, not only how many and anchor text but break down how many IP's / domains the backlinks are from

  you'll probably never find anything better for diagnosing links than linkdiagnosis.com

  Is it actually that good then. I'm using Wordtracker + Google search, is it way better. Does it suggest things or just offer refinements on what you have typed in?
