    Why do you wanna deindex them just redirect them to your new pages and this way your new pages will get ranked quickly.

      Lmao, 301 redirect the unwanted page back to Google SERPs.

    You can set the page to noindex, but if it's because you have duplicate content on your site then canonical tags would be better.

    Redirect them to any other (relevant!) pages, use noindex or canonical tags indeed, or delete them and make sure no links from your existing pages lead to them, and eventually they`ll disappear from index.

    First, direct all articles to your main website so raise a removal request via webmaster tools and add /articles/ there, this could take away all listed articles.

    You can go your Google Webmaster tools and find [Remove URLs] option, click and paste your link and submit.After 24 hour later your index page will be remove from google index.

    If your website is developed by wordpress platform, then you can easily exclude your indexed page from the search result. There is a option called exclude from search results in the dashboard or edit section of each pages. You can tick that option whatever page you want to exclude from search results.

    You remove the pages on your site or you ask search engines not to index them (add
    <meta name="robots" content="noindex">
    to the <head> part of your page. Or have a plugin do that for you.

    Set those pages which you don't want to index as noindex pages or you can also redirect those pages to other webpages which are relevant. You can also delete them but make sure no links from your existing pages lead to them.
