How to get backlinks indexed

Hi I have a few questions.

1. Do backlinks have to be indexed in order for them to counted by google.

2. How do you make sure your backlinks get indexed - people say Social bookmarking/rss then pin, but I don't understand what you do in the social bookmarking pages. Can someone show an example?

Thanks!

Go to Ping-o-Matic! and enter the urls of your bookmarks. If your 2.0 properties have an rss link, send those through Feed Submitter - Submit RSS Feed for free

There's software that can do both en masse, but this is cheap and works for a few sites at a time.

Yeh, the thing is I don't get the bookmarking business. Do you just get a page um on digg etc and put all the urls of the links you made?

The answer is yes . . . backlinks do have to be indexed.

The easiest way to explain it is consider a small SEO backlink building campaign consisting of 1,000 web directory submissions, you do not really expect 1,000 backlinks.

The truth is month 1 you might get 200 - Month 2 you might get 400 - etc.

People use PING to notify the bots of the page so that it increases the chance of getting indexed.

    Ok , yes thanks

But how do you bookmark a page. -- can I see an example!

I tried doing an RSS with individual URLS for where my backlinks were, but it takes far too long!

Your backlink is in the form of anchor text. Basically your keyword/s hyperlinked back to your site. So say on hubpages you build a hub. Add enough content that they'll publish it. Within your content, add your anchor text. When the page is published, take that hub page link and submit it to bookmarking sites. Now you have multiple links pointing to a page that links back to your site. At the bottom of your hub will be an rss link to the hub. Grab that link and submit it to rss submitters. Again, multiple links to a page that points back to your site. It's called juicing and gets your backlinks indexed pretty darn quick.

You asked this a couple times and no one answered.
No I'm pretty sure that will get you banned on Digg.
You could do it on Del.icio.us and some others though.

Here's an article about Social Bookmarking that may help.
