Which traffic converts for adsense?

I have found that certain sources of traffic do not convert well for adsense. Most of us know that Digg and other social network traffic do poor in % conversions. However, I have found that my best converting traffic is from sister sites that cover the same topic as me.

Using Google Analytics I can see which traffic is getting me the most money using adsense. OK so far, traffic from Google search converts better than Yahoo/Bing.

    Hi seobro,

    I have found that direct link traffic from other websites that have highly relevant topics as the best and search engine traffic as the the next best for conversions. Most other sources fall far short of these two.

    Search traffic depends a lot on the keyword/phrases you're ranking for. If you've created your site around your keyword/phrases, and rank for those keyword/phrases, you have a very tight 'relevancy fit' when someone searches and clicks on your site.

    Conversion, though, will also depends on the 'commercial intent' of those keyword/phrases.

    Providing you are ranking for your chosen keywords that your site is built around, and those keywords have appropriate 'commercial intent' (product names, types, etc. for "product-centric" sites; 'answers to questions' keywords for "informational" sites), AND you've optimized your site properly, including content that doesn't mesmerize the visitor, then you will have very high conversion.

    thanks for the posts guys..I'm still trying to find the best way for my site to have traffic..but I also think that organic traffic is really best..just do your own stuff, add relevant content to your site/blog..I agree that this will be a great help..

      The old saying 'content is king' is so true.

      However, you want to make sure you are in a non-competitive niche first. Otherwise it can be easy to get discouraged before seeing any decent results.

        I totally agree with you on that one. Discouragement really sets in easily especially when you are still at the stage of building up your site. But just keep in mind to always do your best and focus on your goals.
