How to make a keyword?

Hi I am a new member and I have made a site on which I write articles everyday some of you might have seen my other posts. So I havent done any sort of seo and people talk about a keyword is a word or can be more than one word that when one searches in a search engine it is suppose to bring your site in the results. But what makes a keyword my keyword? Is that the mata tag words or what can you please tell me? How can I select a key word?

    I am really thankful to you but the thing is that I just want to know something that, lets take an example I am making a site about vegetables and fruits and in that site I want to write their importance now lets say I write an article about ginger and I want my site to be shown on google page when people write keywords like how is ginger useful, which diseases can be cured with ginger, how important is ginger for health and all other related keywords.

    your keyword is your niche...if your niche is say "loosing weight" then your keyword is loosing weight

    now you can get many keyword ideas of your niche

    by using " google keyword planner tool"

    when you use this tool it will give you other keywords or phrases that you can use in place of
    your oreginal keyword

    Keyword is a single or multiple word which can describe your niche.

    In a word, when you search in web, what you write for searching, that is keyword.

    So, your keyword should be your niche related. Such as, "Pressure Cooker" is your website, Your keyword should be, "Best pressure cooker" "Pressure cooker tips" "Top 10 pressure cooker" etc.
