    This is a great method of creating backlinks if you first create a time machine and go back in time at least 5 years. Profile links will do nothing to help you rank better.

    I've said it more times than I can count, but I'll say it again ... IF YOU CAN CREATE THE BACKLINK YOURSELF, IT IS WORTHLESS FOR HELPING YOU RANK BETTER!

      If you want to *get* backlinks *give* away valuable, helpful content on authority sites in your niche. Landing guest posting or featured gigs on these top blogs takes months, then years, of learning and practicing a skill. Get to work OP, earn those valuable links by working intelligently and persistently.

      ONLY if those "friends" have websites and those websites are worth getting a backlink from. If 1% of people who are your "friends" on social media have a website, I would be shocked (unless, of course, your website is in the SEO/website building niche).

    Guys, i also heard, directories can be good for backlinks.
    I found a few using: opensite explorer and filling in competitors URL.
    But most of them ask to place a link back.
    Should i or is this been penalised as spam?

    What a horrible video. None of those links have any PR at all. They are PR 0 and PR n/a links. The PR of a home page doesn't mean anything. What matters is the PR of the page where your link is.
