Article Keyword - SERPs Ranking

Hi, I have a question regarding some articles of my website. I am currently trying to rank a page higher in search results. To do so, I am writing related content. I'll take an example to illustrate it.

Let's say I want to rank for the keyword "SEO practice". I first create a page with this keyword in mind. I then use 'Google Fetch' to directly have it in search results.

After a few hours, I see my page ranking at the 60th position. After a month, the page remains in the spot 55-60.

Afterwards, I decided to create a blog post with the keywords "Top 10 SEO Practice" in mind. Then, I am fetching the page again and notice a decrease in page rank for the keywords "SEO practice" because Google finds this new blog post more relevant for this keyword.

Therefore, by creating a blog post related to the former page topic, it is competing against each other. Moreover, I am not able to find the page targeting "SEO practice" anymore when typing SEO practice on Google. I will only see the blog post.

My questions:
Is it good to create related topic blog post?
Is there only one page/domain ranking for a particular keyword?
Any advice?

Thanks in advance for your answers

Basically, Whole Digital Marketing is based on the Content Marketing. this is the soul for the increasing the SERP.
    For the stopped the SERP,
1- you should focus on the Refferal Page that how to increase the refferal page. ?
2- you should targeting those keyword which you want exactly .

Actually, I am not getting properly that what do you want to say exactly .?
      Here is an example

The keyword in this example is "office design". I tracked it with Serplab.
Then I created a blog post with a related topic 'office interior design tips'. Unfortunately, when looking at the ranking, the previous page (office-design) is not ranking anymore for this keywords and instead, the blog post office-interior-design-tips took his place. It moved from position 11 to 29 only because I created a blog post related to the topic.

Therefore, what happened to the previous page? does it stop to rank for this keywords once there is another blog post that is related to it? How can we avoid this fluctuation of ranking? One can assume that by creating relevant content related to this topic, it should rank higher no?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

You dont have to use google fetch to bring your articles on googles, It knows what and when has to be brought into the scene.

Also you should never create different articles on a same keyword, Try to group them together into a single article. And get some links on it like social signals, Some guest posts or comment backlinks So that you can bring the page to more front of google.

I am not creating a blog post with the same keywords but with keywords variance. For instance, if the page is targeting SEO practice, the blog would be around: SEO best practices 2017, On page SEO technique, etc.

Therefore, I am wondering what happens to the main page (targeting SEO practice) on SERPs if either MOZ or other tools detects the blog post instead of the prior page? It doesn't seems to provide me with ranking for the main page anymore (See the example I provided on my comment above).

see first find out the keywords, make sure you use a phrase which is made by combining the most searched keyword.... only including this at the title page will not work out... you have to work on lot of strategies from SMO to SEO, then only you will get a good rank of your website.

I do the same thing to rank for a keyword. I create a blog post and after few days once the post is indexed, it starts to show in rankings. But, in order to increase the rankings, the most important thing is creating backlinks of that blog or article. Without having backlinks, your ranking will not improve and will eventually diminish from rankings completely.

I created a blog post for the keyword call center outsourcing - That post ranked on the 5th page after a few days, now after proper backlinking and social media sharing, it is on page 2 within a week.

I do agree. Creating backlinks is mandatory. But what I don't understand is what I mentioned previously, what happens to the ranking of the previous page once a blog post is ranking for the same keyword? I am not able to find the former page in the tracking tool anymore.
