Indexing of a Website

I am a bit confused with the indexing of my website. When I search in google with site command i.e site:mysite.com it shows About 2,920 results (0.29 seconds), but in google webmaster tools it shows:
11,094 URLs indexed
What is the difference in both and what is more relevant. How can I know what exactly is the number of indexed pages on my website.

The site: operator is showing all kinds of crazy results right now.

Different data centers, your IP, proxy IP's, etc etc etc are all leading to different results from it. Use the Search Console numbers, which is weird even saying, because right now it's more accurate.

What kind of website are you actually building that has 11k pages?

Contact you designer he might help you with this issue. THere must be some bug which is preventing all of your pages from indexing or you can higher an IT professional.
