I'm moving to a new server shortly, after being on the same server for 6+ years. Is the change of IP address likely to affect the ranking of my sites in Google?

Thanks,

Your fine, generally it wont have any effect whatsoever - Point to note - make sure what your moving to server wise is equal to, or better than the server your on - server speed plays apart in rankings IE - Page loading times etc.

Everyone is telling you not to worry without asking any questions lol...

If you are moving to a dedicated or VPS where you are the only host on the IP it should be fine.

However if you are moving to cheap shared hosting where you are sharing an IP with other hosts you may want to check your neighborhood. If you end up sharing an IP with several hundred penalised black hat websites then you should be worried.

You can check your neighborhood by using bing, supa growth has a tool that automates this, and also majestic offers a service for this.
