I was unfortunately one of the 1,000's that was recently banned from Adsense. I had been a publisher for over 3 years and haven't every violated any policy. Anyway, that isn't the point of this post.

My wife was successful in getting approved for Adsense and I will of course use her account.

Am I right in concluding that I only need to use the new code on new sites? I have a site that I know doesn't violate any policy and it was earning $10 / day prior to my ban. I'd love to use that site again, but I'm pretty certain that would be a bad idea.

Thoughts?

Regards,
Chris

*Also, should I use a different host all together (in order to have a unique IP?)

This thing is very delicate and only adsense support can give you specific answer... Unless you now why your account is banned, you are not safe in using any of those things associated with your old account..

That is what I'm thinking as well. I have another hosting account so I will use it for these new sites.

Maybe you should check first the reason why you got banned.. Using your wife's Adsense account might not be the solution because Google might have ways of tracking the Adsense codes that are used in your website.. Eventually, your wife's account might be banned also.. Try to communicate formally with Google Support in order to know the specific reason why your site was banned.

OH, I did try and communicate with Google and received nothing but a copy and paste of their TOS, which I did not violate.

The banned me and everyone else that was using a certain CMS to create eBay affiliate sites. The banned everyone that used the same CMS. A CMS isn't a violation of the TOS.

My main question is whether or not it is necessary to use a new hosting plan (new ip)?

If that is indeed the case..that is why I recommend everyone learn to create their own sites from scratch. It's a lot easier than one might think.

Less possibility of someone like Google lumping us in with a chokepoint like using the same CMS or otherwise and treating us as a group rather than as individuals.

Personally I would rewrite the successful site under a new url. I recently closed down a html site for a week or two and then fired up a self hosted Wordpress blog and put my original content from the html site on it. I checked for duplicate content and nothing showed.

That wp blog is now holding its own in the serp's, even better then when it was html.

I would do that. Definitely do not put the adsense code you now have on the old site. Re-birth it to be safe.

Yes, adsense account may be banned for unexpected reasons. If someone clicks your ads from same ip regularly, it may be the number one reason. Anyway u can make another account from a different ip. So wish u all the best.

      Thanks,
      Pioneer

Why not try switching the old sites to Yahoo Publisher Network or similar? You might get similar results to AdSense depending on your niche.

Oh I agree carlos. I know how to build my own sites too. I joined Mony-Tree back two February's ago because they offered 1 month for $7. Within that first month I had made more than double the normal cost of the membership so I was sold.
