Google My Business (3 Pack) CTR?

Hi guys, this may be difficult to answer but I want to be able to get a rough idea.

1) I understand being #1 on Google can get you ~35% of search volume but how does that get affected with the Google My Business 3 Pack that comes up when searching for local search terms.

Technically it would make the 1st page result be 4th, (technically) so what are the rough click through rates of the GMB results?

2) If I am a local business based in town 1 but also targeting other neighbouring towns; town 2 and town 3, would my Google My Business potentially show up for all 3 towns if they are near? Or would I have to register 3 different businesses?

    If you are not in the 3-pack for a local search, you can expect to get about zero traffic from that search. Maybe 5-10%, if you are lucky.

    The local pack is going to suck up all the traffic, just like the top 3 results do in a traditional organic listing.

      I'm trying to get a site ranked for a family friends business.

      Do you have any idea how many people will visit the website of a GMB 3 pack listing vs just calling the number?

      I'm of the impression from my experience in most cases that people just call the number and don't even bother checking the site? Although it could depend on the industry...

      Not sure if you've any points there?

        It is going to depend on the industry some.

        If I need a plumber for an emergency, I'm probably just going to call the phone number and could care less about visiting their website.

        If I am ordering a pizza, I am more likely to go to the website to check out their menu. Of course, if I know exactly what I want and have ordered from the place before that may not be the case.

    I've read on MOZ that organic results lost 25% of CTR to ads in the past 2 years. Google is constantly making changes so they earn more. They still have 4 top positions for their ads, but now, their ads are taking much more space than organic results. That should be taken into consideration as well.

      I wouldn't trust most of the stuff you read on Moz.
