Do RSS Directories Help In SEO?

I just read in a thread that RSS directories can help in SEO. Is that right? How do they help in SEO?

Have you seen any benefits from them? :confused:

Yep, as Karl mentions above, RSS directory submissions will help with your off page SEO (backlinking) they are effective as they used to be and work better with a combination of the usual off page SEO tatics such as article marketing, blog commenting, SOME link directories, web 2 commenting/posting.

The answer is a definite YES.
RSS combined with article submission and web2.0 sites like squidoo and hub pages provide multiple backlinks to your money pages.
There is something called the Mr K strategy which works very well.

Here is a list compiled a while back, it's not 100% up to date so there may be some errors but it's generally quite good.

That's a pretty good list of RSS feed directories, mate. Thanks. RSS feed directory submission do helps in getting traffic and building backlinks. Most of blogs or sites that don't have much time to create content subscribes RSS feeds, due to which you receives regular traffic and automatically your backlinks are built. Please correct me if i am wrong here.

Here's an old post of mine that might help speed things up - RSS Directory Submission - Easy, Semi-Automated, and Free | Backlinkage

With this, you can build a pipe, submit it to RSS directories once, then add new feeds to your pipe instead of having to add each feed to all of the directories. Ideally you should have a pipe for each niche or market, but if you plan right you can have more general combination pipes.

IMO, the best benfit of submitting RSS pheeds to the directories is that other webmasters use these directories to add content to autoblogs. This gives you a good chance to get a lot of one way links, across a range of websites.

The key is to do basic SEO on your pheeds, you can use long tail, but make sure you also include the main keywords. Think about how you would add RSS pheeds to your site and the keywords you would use and be sure to include these in your pheeds.

I also believe serious SEOers should think of creating RSS pheeds just like they do blogs and sites and try to create as many pheeds as possible, submitting and pinging each.
