NAP on every page

Hi guys,

I'm working on the website of a client.

They have their contact details as a section in the text body of every single page, with <h1>Contact</h1> tags.
I suppose they did it because they are local and want to stress the importance of serving their local community.

I have a concern: is there any risk Google may treat it as duplicate content and penalize the site?

I would like to suggest the client removing at all the contact section, and instead placing the contact details on the footer and marking them with Schema.

Opinions?

    Yes use this in footer. As contact details they can use their phone Number, Email in every page.

    I would put the information in the footer or the header of each page usually.

    I have seen some sites that put it in the sidebar. Kind of depends on the layout of the site if it looks okay or not.

    As far as SEO is concerned, that is not duplicate content. It is not even close to what duplicate content refers to. I really do not understand how you would get such a silly idea in your head.

    And no, I can guarantee the H1 tag has nothing to do with stressing they are a local business and everything to do with a web designer that either did not know how to or was too lazy to use CSS to alter the look of the word "contact" to make it stand out from the rest of the text.

        I said having the contact information on every page, no matter where it is, has nothing to do with duplicate content.

          Yes, that's not making sense to care about the content duplication. It's common to use the contact on every page as it is adding value to the visitors.

    The H1 would better serve the site with a title of what the page or at least the first section of the page is about.

    NAP BTW mean Name, Address and Phone Number consistency across the Internet. Citations etc. Very important for local optimization, e.g. the Google map pack.
