Will having a site redeveloped affect SEO?

I am looking at getting my site redeveloped, a lot of the content will be reused but there will be extra functionality and slightly different layout implemented.
How will this affect my SEO rankings? Any tips to minimise potential lower rankings?

    yes it will affect your rankings

    the best thing to do is to make a note of all of your urls and if you change their structure redirect the old ones to the new ones

    at the same time, if you have a site architecture aka internal link building designed you should note the internal linking structure and try to keep it the same and what you cannot keep the same 301 redirect to the relevant new parts of the site

    that's the short answer...long story short it will take a bunch of time to do it right and you have to do it carefully
