BookmarkingDemon and Backlinks??

I usually do a BMD run whenever I put up a new site. I will pick the top 50 sites to bookmark my new site in BMD. However, after like a few months when I check my backlinks in Yahoo Explorer only maybe 1-2 of my backlinks are from sites that I bookmarked. I know the bookmarks are there since I go to mixx, propeller, etc. and see that it did bookmark my site.

Why is it that not many of the backlinks get picked up by Yahoo Explorer? Do they still count as backlinks to help with the SERPs and it just not listed by Yahoo? Or if they are not picked up by Yahoo then we get no juice from them? Also why is that the for one site the the mixx bookmark link shows up in YE, but for another site it does not?

    For me, I can see them in other backlink checkers, but not Yahoo Explorer.

    Just give it a couple of more months they'll come through...

    Anyways, Yahoo SiteExplorer isn't the most reliable of all data as I have been finding back links which had been dead for almost half a year now.

    It does take time for the SB links to show up, my articles. even from small PR0 sites show up so a little confused why these don't....maybe they just don't have much weight????

    Hm... Yeah that's probably the case, Matt Cutts personally said that articles are crawled based on their pagerank.

      Yep, do that as well. It'd be good to hear from someone who is doing well, just need to understand the frequency of how often to bookmark and a strategy to do it.

    For starters totally ignore Yahoo mysites for backlinks, it is useless!
    The best i've found so far is backlinkwatch, but even they take ages to index some links.
    I would say: be patient, and don't ass ume you are not getting link juice just because you cant see them. Google will take account of all bookmarks when they get around to it!
