One page websites - can they have effective SEO?

Hi guys

The company I'm working with deal with co-founding several startups and create one-page websites for each due to lack of resource. I'm wondering whether there is a way to attain good SEO with just one page! I'm pretty sure that in the long run it's not the best route to go but if there were any suggestions or tactics that would be brilliant.


Any help would be most appreciated. p.s. This is my first post so please be brutal!

    If you can't add a couple pages to help your startups your company sucks. "lack of resources" is a cop out.

    Brutal enough?

    and yes one page sites rarely rank (but can with significant links but that takes MORE "resources")
